Dining in pleasant surroundings -- The Village Inn

The author of this web page relates his experiences
in the Village Inn restaurant:

"Grandma Early's country ham and baked apple dinner was always Dad's favorite."

The picture above shows the Village Inn dining room when I was eight years old.
We had a 1954 Ford station wagon and after church, my Dad would load up the family for a drive out to the Pure Village for Sunday dinner. Even though it was the noon-day meal, at the Pure Village it wasn't 'lunch' it was dinner.
Dad loved Mrs Early's country ham and baked apples (as we all did) and claimed it to be Grandma Early's own special recipe. Mr. Early always made a table-side visit for a friendly handshake, and would invite us kids for a slice of warm blueberry pie with vanilla ice cream.
Evening Buffet__ Today, those fond memories are rekindled every time I take my family to the Village Inn. We know that this is the one restaurant in the area where we'll be comfortable in a pleasant, friendly atmosphere.
The Village Inn's pork roast and country fried chicken are two of my favorites today, and Mrs. Early's original recipe potato soup is to die for. (In winter season I've been known to have three or four bowls of that potato soup along with biscuits for my entire dinner!) You can bet I always leave a little room though, for coffee and a slice of apple or cherry pie. It just doesn't get any better than this. My children have enjoyed it too.
Guess you could say, this is a true testimonial from happy, satisfied, third-generation diners at the Village Inn.

The Village Inn has always maintained a high standard of freshness and quality in the dining room.

Dining Today__ From Mrs. Early's original recipe for Southern Fried Chicken to warm apple dumplings and fresh baked pies, you'll find dining at the Village Inn a most enjoyable experience. The surroundings are unpretentious -- NOT haute cuisine -- this is Virginia country style home cooking, a welcome change from today's typical restaurant food.
You'll enjoy dining at the Village Inn, even if you're not a guest.
The food is always fresh -- always home cooked, the atmosphere always pleasant, and the price nicely affordable for even large families.
