How to enjoy Friday Night

Regardless of a 100+ heat index we decided to take a stroll through downtown Harrisonburg’s “First Friday” for July… and a good time!

First stop : Downtown Wine and Gourmet for a free wine tasting and a lucious Pinot Noir. Next: Jim Harris, and his stained glass paintings based on Beatles songs, at the Oasis Gallery! Then a “Photography Nouveau” gallery opening featuring the works of Mimi Guido. This was in the gallery at the Blue Nile restaurant where we enjoyed a delicious Ethiopian dinner.

Jim Budzius trop rockBack on the square, there were all kinds of rockin’ blues and classic rock going on with Fatty Lumpkin & the Love Hogs!

Whew, time to cool down and chill out a bit … what better venue than the Union Station and the classic rock tropical rock tunes of Jimmy Budzius!

Next time someone says there’s nothing happening in Harrisonburg, tell’em “See’ya Friday!”
