The 50th Anniversary Season of the Shenandoah Valley Music Festival, presented by First Bank, will feature Grammy Award winning performer Kris Kristofferson in a special solo acoustic show and five-time Grammy winner Marty Stuart with his band The Fabulous Superlatives.
Bluegrass fans will immediately recognize the name Bill Yates for his many years as a member of Country Gentlemen.

Taste of Downtown returns March 4-10, 2013 with 23 participating downtown restaurants and eateries in five categories. Harrisonburg Downtown Renaissance and the Downtown Dining Alliance bring this biannual restaurant week to the community to highlight local restaurants and flavors each March and August.
Beginning March 1, 2013, First Fridays Downtown becomes a year-long event. Stroll the streets of downtown Harrisonburg the first Friday of every month and enjoy extended hours at many shops and businesses while viewing art and enjoying performances by local artists, musicians and more. (more…)
In February we’re dedicating a week to celebrating women’s stories – Women in Focus. Several local businesses have generously donated items to a raffle and for each event attended, guests will receive one raffle ticket to put towards an item of their choice. Some of the prizes include a pair of Sseko sandals from Mint, a handmade hulahoop from Friendly City Hoops, and gift certificates to Joshua Wilton House, the Little Grill Collective, and Dragonflies Toys. The drawing will take place on February 16, after the final performance of The Vagina Monologues.
The Custin Jazz Series brings two outstanding jazz musicians to WTA’s Gateway on Saturday February 9. The 8 pm performance unites jazz singer Stephanie Nakasian with jazz pianist Hod O’ Brien in an evening of classic American jazz. The evening is one of a kind and made possible by a grant from the Virginia Commission for the Arts and the National Endowment for the Arts. (more…)
Richard Adams has packed his February Variety Show with talent. New to the Gateway audience will be the bluegrass band Bourbon Barrel Congress, whistling sensation Den Frumen and 10 year-old flat foot dance Nathan Aitcheson. Joining them will be the King of Rock ‘n Roll. The Richard Adams Variety Show is on Friday, February 8 at 7:30 pm. The performance is at WTA’s Gateway, 329 West Main in downtown Waynesboro. (more…)
