Selling Fine Arts and Crafts by Shenandoah Valley Artists
OASIS Gallery is the showplace for fine arts and crafts created by local artisans. The Gallery features unique gifts handcrafted by jury-selected Shenandoah Valley artists in a wide range of prices. You can relax at Oasis and enjoy browsing the fine arts and crafts in a renewing and peaceful setting.
A friendly local artist or volunteer will greet you and answer your questions. Call 540-442-8188 for information on special activities and events.
Visiting Oasis Gallery: OASIS is located in a beautiful open space in a historic art deco building in downtown Harrisonburg. You may park one block away on Main at Dave's Taverna. Or turn left at OASIS onto Water St., and left into the parking deck.

Location & Directions: From I81, take exit 245 west on Port Republic Road. Turn right at Route 11 (South Main Street). Proceed north going past JMU's main campus, the Joshua Wilton House and the Virginia Quilt Museum. OASIS is on the left at the corner of Main and Water Streets in downtown Harrisonburg. Harrisonburg Virginia is approximately 100 miles north of Roanoke, 100 miles south-west of Washington, D.C.

Oil painter Mia LaBerge is featured through August 2 with a special exhibit that shares a generous selection of her work plus information about her artistic interests.
Jun 4: Leta Hilton "A Designer's Eye for a Fine Artist"
5-7 pm Reception for the changed exhibit and the featured artist, plus a program for the "Art of Collecting" series, produced with grant support from the Arts Council of the Valley.
Jun 7, 14, 21, 28: Drawing and Painting Horses CLASS
Over four Saturdays starting June 7, Elaine Hurst will teach beginning and intermediate students, age 12 and up, to draw and paint horses. $60 to register plus $10 for materials. Charcoal and pastels provided. Limited space. Reserve by credit card by calling OASIS during business hours.
Jun 11 The Art of Collecting: A Valley Master - Ken Beer
5-7pm A special exhibit "Ken Beer Retrospective" will open at OASIS, celebrated by a reception and presentation. The event is free and open to the public. The exhibit features metal sculptures and castings, most of which are from private collections. Some may be for sale. Departure, a 6-foot tall rearing horse and rider, will be the centerpiece of the exhibit. Beer is Professor Emeritus of JMU and a sculptor known for his metal technique, bronze casting, and metal fabrication. 6-6:30 pm Jerry Coulter will give an overview of Ken Beer's career and talk about collecting a single artist's work. This is the final presentation in the "Art of Collecting" series, made possible by a grant from the Arts Council of the Valley.
Jul 10 ART IS FUN - Art Games
1-4pm Create your own art game with instructor Laura Pinnow. $2 for materials is the only fee. Children will make a game to take home with them.
Jul 24 Mary Chiaramonte Portrait Sittings
10-5pm Have your charcoal portrait sketched while you pose, by member artist Mary Chiaramonte. Appointments every half hour. Call 540-442-8188 to reserve a time or walk in. $30 per portrait. $10 for each additional person (or pet) in the portrait.
