Shirley Ann Monger Beale
I retired from Newport News Public Schools in June 2003 after teaching here for 29 years - twenty-three years in fifth grade and six years teaching fourth. I spent all but one year at the same school, B. C. Charles Elementary.
My son Andy is in the real estate business and lives in Virginia Beach. Along with selling real estate, he also manages my rental properties.
I enjoy spending time with my best friend Reid, doing water aerobics, working in my yard, volunteering at the school where I taught,and being involved in Delta Kappa Gamma. I love to play bridge and belong to three bridge groups and substitute in others as often as I can.
Every summer since 1992 I spend a week at Sandbridge Beach with a college friend and our families. Sometimes Mary Smith joins us at the beach for a day or two.
