A celebration of 80 hand-selected wines from around the world, from true Virginia blends produced in the Shenandoah Valley to exotic European and South American selections. Rocktown Wine & Dine Festival — Saturday, September 7, 2013 from 3:00 to 8:00 pm at the Turner Pavilion & Park in downtown Harrisonburg.
Local chefs from five Harrisonburg restaurants will be creating unique food pairings specifically designed to bring out the flavors of a wine at each station. Food samples will be available from 3:00-7:00 pm or until supplies run out. Artisan craft vendors will be on hand showing off their wares, and a craft beer tent will feature a diverse selection of beers.
The Rocktown Wine & Dine Festival will not only provide the opportunity to try a unique selection of wines and enhance personal wine collections, but also to gain greater understanding of wine and food pairings. Music by The Rick Olivarez Trio and the artisan craft tent will provide excellent entertainment to supplement the wine tasting.
The festival is unique in that every wine available for sampling is also available for preordering through Downtown Wine & Gourmet at discounted prices. Event attendees can note their favorite selections in the festival program and stop by the Downtown Wine & Gourmet festival table to complete their order before leaving the event. All orders will be filled and ready for pick-up on Saturday, September 15 from Downtown Wine & Gourmet at 41 Court Square, Suite C, in the Marketplace building in downtown Harrisonburg.
A special discount offer for festival guests is available from the Rocktown Wine & Dine Festival and Downtown Wine & Gourmet: one case mix & match receives 10% off the regular bottle price; three cases mix & match receives 20% off the regular bottle price; and five cases mix & match receives 25% off the regular bottle price.
